Earlier this year, Dorset Council hosted the Big Bang @ Dorset Fair at The Tank Museum, Bovington and we’re delighted to confirm that we will be hosting the Big Bang @ Dorset Fair 2020 again at this impressive venue on 18 March 2020. Big Bang is a programme of UK-wide events that get students excited about science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM subjects). This year’s event was a real success with fun-filled shows, hands-on exhibits, interactive workshops and a wide range of careers information from local and national employers. Over 1,700 students attended the event which was supported by 40 businesses and organisations.


The event next year will have several sessions available, please see details below:


Secondary Schools:                   9:30-12:00

Middle & Primary Schools:        12:30- 15:00

Public (parents & carers):          17:00- 19:30 *New for 2020


Big Bang Competition

In addition to the opportunity to take part in a wide range of hands on activities with STEM employers from across the region, we will host a regional heat of The Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Competition, with the potential for outstanding projects being nominated to progress on to the national finals the following March at the NEC, Birmingham.
