We will be celebrating STEM by the sea in Weston Super Mare. For a third year running Big Bang @ Weston hosts a range of exciting hands on activities from the most prominent STEM employers across the region all under one roof at the Winter Gardens on the sea front.
In addition to the opportunity to take part in a wide range of hands on activities with STEM employers from across the region, we will host a regional heat of The Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Competition, with the potential for outstanding projects being nominated to progress on to the national finals the following March at the NEC, Birmingham.
This event is free to attend.

09:00 – 10:00 Sensory Friendly Session
(Big Bang events by nature feature high noise levels, we have introduced a session where adjustments will be made for a low sensory experience that may be more suitable to some visitors)
10:00- 12:30 Primary School Session (including home schooled children)
12:30- 15:00 Secondary School Session (including home schooled children)

The Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Competition- South West Heat
We will be hosting the regional heat of the competition for secondary schools on Friday 24th April. If you are entering a team/individual into the competition, please book onto the Sensory Friendly Session (9:00-10:00) on this date, judging will happen during the morning and are invited to stay for the whole day in order to have the opportunity to experience the fair once judging has finished and attend the awards presentation in the afternoon.
