The Big Bang Fair Yorkshire and Humber is part of the major UK-wide programme led by Engineering UK (www.engineeringuk.com). The Big Bang programme celebrates and raises the profile of young people’s achievements in STEM through the Big Bang Competition.
There will be so much going on at this year’s event from interactive shows to over 60 activities where you can get hands-on with the engineering behind a Formula 1 car, see the stars in the planetarium or cuddle up to some cute (and some not-so-cute) animals.
You can carry out forensic investigations or even try your hand at welding! Take our ‘Whose Crew R U?’ quiz and meet scientists and engineers in our Careers Zone to find out about the wide range of STEM careers open to you in our region.
Show off Your STEM Project!
Have your students undertaken a STEM project? Showcase these projects at The Big Bang Fair Yorkshire and Humber for the chance to win a variety of awards, including CREST Awards, STEM Club Awards, Global STEM Awards and the Big Bang Competition. Winners of our regional Big Bang Competition heat could even progress to the national finals to represent the Yorkshire and Humber region at The Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Fair in March 2020.
Register your projects and help us celebrate the achievements of students and the essential contribution of the parents, teachers and guardians who help put their great efforts together.
Support and sponsorship
Would you like to be part of the largest one-day STEM event in the region? Why not sponsor one of our awards or become a premium sponsor? You can also run an activity or workshop at the event where you can meet your future workforce. Sponsoring or running an activity at The Big Bang Fair Yorkshire and Humber will bring your company to the attention of over 4,000 visitors.
The Big Bang @ Schools
Why not hold your own ‘Big Bang @ School’ event? Excite your students about STEM by holding your own Big Bang at your school. If you’d like to find out more about how you can do this, please contact Niki Bardsley on email@example.com or 07565 797971.
We need volunteers to act as judges and guides for the day. Volunteers are needed for the full day from 8.30 am until 3.30 pm. Lunch and refreshments will be provided for all volunteers throughout the day. We hope this will be a rewarding experience for all volunteers who will have a chance to be part of an exciting and inspirational STEM event. To volunteer or to find out more, please contact Niki Bardsley on firstname.lastname@example.org or 07565 797971.
