Meet the Future You
Workshop: Take part in one of our sessions where you will meet real-life scientists and engineers. Find out where you could be in five, ten or fifteen years’ time if you continue with maths, science, computing, D&T, engineering, construction & the built environment and other relevant subjects. In small groups you will have the chance to quiz people working in lots of different industries and discover how they got to where they are now.
STEM in Schools and the Institution of Civl Engineers
Exhibition: Use a STIXX machine to roll newspaper into a solid cylinder 60cm long and 2cm in diameter. As a Civil/Structural Engineer use the STIXX and re useable ties to build tall towers, bridges, chairs to sit on or a shelter large enough to get into. Use the STIXX machine to make curved rods then build models like Tower Bridge, The Gherkin or The Eiffel Tower. There are no limits to creativity!
