Big Bang @ Fugro showcases the wide range of exciting and interesting career opportunities available in, on and under our world’s oceans.

You will learn about the science and engineering involved in this rewarding industry, meet some of the many people and companies working within it and get to see (and use) some of the amazing technology.

From exploring and mapping our ocean floors in Hydrographic Survey, through conducting scientific research of the geology and ecology, finding and searching underwater objects, wrecks and features, subsea construction and laying cables to supply our communication and energy needs using both natural and renewable resources, and operating robotic autonomous craft (surface and submerged). There is more going on out at sea that you may be aware of.

Big Bang @ Fugro covers a range of age groups, school pupils are invited to attend on Tuesday and Wednesday as part of the BigBang scheme, and older students and people exploring new career options on the networking events and demos on Thursday & Friday; there really is something for everyone!
