The Big Bang Fair West Midlands is back for 2017. After 2016’s successful event, we are returning to the larger Jaguar Hall 2 at the RICOH Arena, so expect the show to be bigger and better than ever!
At 2017’s event we will be showcasing the very best of the region, from the fantastic work carried out by student STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) clubs to the companies and institutions that are innovating, researching and manufacturing across the STEM spectrum.
Highlights at this year’s event:
We are delighted to host The Engineering Development Trust’s Go4SET regional celebration and Award event again for 2016. Schools from all over the region will be showcasing their Go4SET project work and hoping to win through to the NSEC final.
Exhibitors: Look out for more than 60 exhibitors from regional companies and supporters including FESTO, FUZE coding, Up an’ at ‘Em History, Exotic Zoo, Intelligent Energy, RAF Museum Cosford, Wolverhampton University and many more.
Workshops and shows: We will be providing a range of informative and exciting shows including an interactive talk from Exotic Zoo as well as a larger than ever selection of informative and hands-on workshops - including Crime Scene Investigation from 1st Steps CSI.
You can now register to volunteer for this event.
Projects and competitions
As always we invite students, teachers and science clubs to bring along and showcase the great science, technology, engineering and maths projects they’ve been working on.
They can talk to STEM professionals about their work and also enter a variety of competitions, including the CREST Award and the regional heats of the National Science + Engineering Competition.
Ignite the rocket boosters - The Big Bang Fair West Midlands hosts the finals of the Tomorrow’s Engineers EEP Robotics Challenge
Budding NASA engineers from 100 schools across the UK have been learning all about robotics, engineering, programming and space since the start of the year - now they’re ready to show off their skills.
20 teams who’ve qualified from regional heats will be demonstrating their skills and hoping to win prizes at the final stage of a six-month challenge. Come along to the Ricoh Arena and support the students! Book your place at The Big Bang Fair West Midlands here.
The Challenge is also looking for volunteers. If you’d like to help Tomorrow’s Engineers as a judge at the event, you can find out more about volunteering here.
