Mid Sussex Science Week (MSSW) is a way of inspiring primary school students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). We hope to engage all students involved so as to ignite a spark for STEM that they can take with them into secondary school and beyond.
The week culminates in the Big Bang @ Mid Sussex, taking place on 15th June 2018. A STEM Ambassador from a local STEM business will be partnered with a local primary school to visit and set a theme (normally relating to their area of expertise or business). During the week the STEM ambassador visits the school to support the teachers and students in completing a project to showcase at the end of the week to a panel of judges.
STEM ambassadors often work in exciting places and therefore bring the fun, knowledge and expertise of a particular subject to each different school.
The winning school has the opportunity to visit and showcase their work at the Big Bang Fair South East, the main celebration event for the region, or 27th or 28th June.
